OPAX-1000™ Opacity & Turbidity Sensor Overview
Verify opacity of containers with on-line, high-speed, accurate, and reliable measurements. The OPAX-1000™ opacity sensor combines proven sensor technology with innovative hardware to provide an easy-to-use system to measure light transmission in a wide variety of applications including packaging containers used in pharmaceutical, food, and personal care. Many products require packaging designed to protect the contents from the damaging effects of light. Establishing pass/fail criteria for minimum opacity of these containers and providing on-line measurement of every container eliminates defects and allows real-time control of these processes.
Test the opacity of containers with online, high-speed, and accurate measurements. The OPAX-1000™ opacity and turbidity sensor combine proven sensor technology with innovative hardware to provide an easy-to-use system to measure light transmission in a wide variety of applications. Many products require packaging that protects the contents from the damaging effects of light. Establishing pass/fail criteria for minimum opacity of these containers and providing online opacity testing eliminates defects and allows real-time quality control. The OPAX-1000™ allows you to test every container, and identify and remove containers with low opacity.
Our opacity sensor features a 2-digit display that provides an indication of signal strength making set-up and integration quick and easy. The sensor includes both a discrete PNP/NPN output and an analog output. The analog output signal may be used to assess the relative opacity of samples.
Opacity Sensor Testing Applications:
On-line opacity meter for container manufacturing. The OPAX-1000™ system can be used with packaging materials such as high-density polyethylene, HDPE plastic, LDPE, and other opaque materials such as paper and composite films. Read our application notes on how opacity sensors protect product integrity.
Quality Control Applications:
In-line incoming inspection of finished containers. Container manufacturers can deploy the OPAX-1000™ opacity and turbidity sensor as part of a manufacturing process quality control system.
